What is Derma Planing?

Derma planning is a type of skin treatment that is receiving increased popularity because of its effectiveness. Derma planing removes the outer most layers of dead skin cells, leaving the skin immediately smooth, supple and vibrant. Derma planing is safely performed by using a blade (a sterile surgical blade).  This blade is held against the skin at an angle of 45 degrees and stroked along the surface, just like shaving.  However, the practitioner is doing the stroking while holding the area of skin taut.

Derma planing is a safe procedure as long as it is done by a professional who has adequate training. The process is as safe as a man shaving his face before work in the morning. There is a slight risk of bleeding as with all forms of shaving, but damage to the skin doesn’t consist of anything more than slight nics.
